Assistant to the President: "Requirements reflected in UN resolutions should be implemented and occupation should be end"

"UN Secretary-General has launched COVID-19 global ceasefire initiative," said Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan-Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the press conference organized by Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, APA reports.

Mr Hajiyev said that the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN will express his position on the initiative in the coming days: “The ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia has not turned into peace. Along with the calls for a ceasefire, the requirements and principles of the UN Charter must be implemented and the occupation must end. This is even more relevant during the coronavirus pandemic."
