Azerbaijan and Pakistan sign an agreement on cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of his visit to Pakistan, has met with Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on January 14, 2020, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.

Expressing his congratulations to Azerbaijan on the liberation of the occupied territories, the Pakistani minister stressed that his country has always supported Azerbaijan's righteous position based on international law.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has noted with satisfaction that Pakistan has always stood by Azerbaijan and the unequivocal support shown by Pakistan at all levels during the Patriotic War, especially by the Pakistani people.

Emphasizing existing historical-cultural relations between two countries the sides discussed developing cooperative relations, as well as issues of mutual support exhibited within international organizations.

It was noted that implementing high-level visit exchanges between Azerbaijan and Pakistan will contribute to the development of bilateral relations.

Views were exchanged on the further development of relations in the field of trade, economics, agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, and other fields. Interpersonal relations, as well as expanding cooperation in the education field, were discussed, the development of relations between ADA University and the Pakistan Foreign Service Academy was emphasized.

The parties have also exchanged their views on the issues of mutual interest in the meeting. After the meeting, the ministries have signed an agreement “on the cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the field of prevention, limitation, and reduction of emergencies”.
