Azerbaijani citizens to be able to travel to Turkey with identity card from next month - UPDATED

Protocol No. 1 on amendments to the agreement on mutual visa exemption between Azerbaijan and Turkey signed in Baku will come into force on April 1, 2021, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Twitter page says, APA reports.

"From this date, our citizens will be able to use their ID cards as border crossing documents," reads the twit.

Starting from April 1, Azerbaijani citizens will be able to travel to Turkey with a new generation ID card, said Turkish General Police Department, APA reports citing Anadolu Agency.

“Citizens of two countries will be able to travel with new generation ID cards from April 1, 2021, during reciprocal travels. A visa-free stay has been extended from 30 to 90 days,” it has been noted.
