Memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev is revered in Washington

The event dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States, the Embassy told APA.

The event was held in a limited frame with the participation of the Embassy and some members of the diaspora because of the pandemic.

Firstly, the participants of the event have commemorated the memory of Heydar Aliyev with a minute of silence.

After that, Ambassador Elin Suleymanov talked about Heydar Aliyev’s unparalleled services in order to strengthen Azerbaijan’s independence and our statehood, as well as for our people’s welfare in his short speech.

The ambassador has touched to the point of glorious Victory of Azerbaijan’s Army against Armenian aggression with the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev noting that this year's commemoration event coincides with a special period in the history of Azerbaijan.
