Presidential aide: “In response to Armenia’s provocations, necessary counterattack measures are taken by Azerbaijan Armed Forces”

“Yesterday, another provocation was committed by Armenia’s Armed Forces at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. As a result of this provocation and suddenly implemented attack using artillery cannons, the personnel of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces sustained losses, while several our soldiers were wounded. May Allah rest in peace our martyred soldiers and military servicemen, and we wish quick recovery to the wounded soldiers”, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan-Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev told APA TV.

H. Hajiyev said on the basis of the instruction of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the necessary counterattack measures were immediately taken by the Azerbaijan Armed Forces: “Beginning from the night hours yesterday and today, in response to such provocations of Armenia, the necessary counterattack measures have been taken along Armenia-Azerbaijan border by the Azerbaijan Armed Forces”.

The Presidential aide noted that today, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the meeting of the Security Council of the Azerbaijan Republic has been held: “At this meeting as well, the task in regard to taking revenge and giving the fitting response to this provocation of Armenia’s Armed Forces as it has always been made previously, has been assigned to the Azerbaijan Armed Forces by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The responsibility for the occurred incidents falls directly on the Republic of Armenia. These provocations have been committed by them deliberately and purposefully. Therefore, Armenia will bear the whole responsibility”.
