Today, the situation around the Keshikchidag monastery complex was discussed at the meeting between the chairman of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov and the chairman of the Georgian parliament, Irakli Kobaxidze, APA reports.

Speaker O. Asadov said that Azerbaijan and Georgia are strategic partners, no one can spoil relations between these two nations.

O. Asadov emphasized that the problems should be resolved in the spirit of strategic partnership: "The Commission has been established with the participation of both countries. The second meeting of the Commission on delimitation and demarcation of state borders between Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held in Tbilisi in late June. We are confident that the commission will do its best to resolve the issues properly. I am convinced that no one can break friendships between Azerbaijan and Georgia".

In his turn, the Georgian parliament speaker Irakli Kobaxidze noted that delimitation and demarcation of borders should be settled within the framework of the rules: "Undoubtedly, our position is the same. The Commission has been established and the issue should be resolved within the format of the Commission. There are certain forces that want to hurt our relationship. But their attempts will not succeed, and we will not allow it. The Commission will coordinate 2/3 of the border and the other issues will be resolved based on friendship principles. Our relationships are based on friendship, mutual respect. Our goal is to further develop our relationships. We attach great importance to the development of relations between our peoples."
