The Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will appoint a rapporteur for the preparation of a report on “political prisoners in Azerbaijan”.
The rapporteur will be appointed during the PACE summer session on June 25, said a message posted on the Assembly’s website.
Pieter Omtzigt, Netherlands, EPP/CD earlier put forward an initiative to prepare a report “political prisoners in Azerbaijan”.
The PACE Bureau passed a decision on the preparation of the report.
