As part of his visit to Latin America, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov met with Paraguayan Foreign Minister Julio Ariola on May 10, 2022, the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The level of relations between the two countries was praised at the meeting, and the importance of the political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Paraguay was emphasized. The sides discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in various fields, including energy, agriculture, and humanitarian spheres.
The Azerbaijani side expressed gratitude to Paraguay for its consistent and sustainable support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.
The sides also exchanged views on partnership and regional and international security issues of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and Paraguay within international organizations.
On May 10, 2022, the first political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Paraguay were held in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.
During the political consultations, delegations led by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and Paraguay's Deputy Foreign Minister Raúl Ricciardi discussed the current state of bilateral relations, as well as expanding cooperation in political, economic, energy, agricultural and humanitarian spheres.
