Iranian President receives Azerbaijani FM-UPDATED

Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan spread information on the meeting of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, APA reports.

In accordance with the information, within the framework of his official visit to Iran, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi: "The President of Iran, Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi, recalled with pleasure his meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Ashgabat on November 28. He conveyed his sincere greetings to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi said that the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan have deep roots and said that the cultural and historical relations between the two countries arose from the desire of our people. Noting the importance of increasing trade turnover in order to ensure the development of relations, President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi said that bilateral relations will contribute to regional cooperation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov talked about the historical, religious, and cultural ties between the two countries and said that the meetings of the heads of state are of great importance in the development of relations. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of holding two meetings between the Presidents of the two countries in a short period of time. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that useful negotiations were conducted with his counterpart in Iran in accordance with the agreements reached and tasks given at the meeting held by the Presidents of the two countries in Ashgabat".

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi has received Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

Raisi noted that Iran is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan.

Iranian President stressed he hopes a leap will happen in the relations, with the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Iran.
