"Western countries, especially representatives of the European Union (EU) and the United States (U.S.), do not mention tripartite agreements," the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said at a briefing held today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to her, the reason why the West does not mention the tripartite agreements on the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations is that this peace initiative was developed by Russia: "This is what irritates them that the peace initiative was developed and implemented with the participation of Russia, and it gives practical results."
Zakharova called the West's mediation between Azerbaijan and Armenia destructive: "There were no constructive and real results of positive progress in the meetings held as the West said. That is, it is possible to say what happened, but in practice this does not happen. This does not mean that we do not value steps that will lead to constructive results. We always note a positive trend when there are some positive moves towards regulation. If there will be relevant results in this direction, then we will definitely appreciate it. Nothing to appreciate yet. "We still see the desire to intervene in the agenda, cases of arbitrariness of some results by the West, and jealousy", the spokesperson of the Russian MFA stressed.
