“The State of Israel has complete equality of rights for all its citizens. There are no first-class citizens, and there are no second-class voters,” Israeli President Reuven Rivlin spoke at a ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of the signing of the peace accord between Israel and Egypt, ONAreports referring to the official Twitter account of the President.

“Recently, when political thinking is turning all reason on its head, we hear entirely unacceptable remarks about the Arab citizens of Israel. I refuse to believe that there are political parties that have surrendered the character of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.

The State of Israel has complete equality of rights for all its citizens. There are no first-class citizens, and there are no second-class voters. We are all equal in the voting booth. We are all represented at the Knesset,” he said.

Note that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel is the homeland "only of the Jewish people," in a new jab at the country's Arab minority ahead of April's election.
