Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, after the Second Karabakh War, which ended with the great victory of our people and our Armed Forces, important measures are being taken in the direction of more reliable protection and protection of the territorial integrity and security of our republic, and further strengthening of the victorious Azerbaijan Army, the Ministry of Defense told APA.

The material and technical base of the military units stationed along the entire border is being strengthened, the most modern military equipment, weapons and ammunition are being purchased, new military campuses are being built, operational commando military units ready and capable of performing any combat task are starting to operate, the moral and psychological training of the personnel special importance is given to the improvement of security, education in the spirit of the heroic traditions of the Patriotic War.

As part of his visit to the liberated Kalbajar region, during the ceremonial ceremony on the occasion of the presentation of the Battle Flag to the newly created operational commando military unit, as Muzaffar Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev said: "The Azerbaijani Army is stronger: both from the point of view of supplies , but also from the combat capability point of view. That's why we will continue to take serious steps for the development of our Army... If Armenia continues to follow its old tactics in determining the borders, if it tries to prolong the time, it will eventually regret itself. We are carefully watching the actions of revanchist forces in Armenia. Let them know it too. Look, my words are written on top of that mountain: "Iron fist is in place!" No one should forget this."

In accordance with the conditions created by the end of the Patriotic War, the organization of defense and security in the territories freed from occupation, in order to ensure the successful performance of the combat tasks set before the Azerbaijan Army, at a solemn ceremony dedicated to the anniversary of the Army unit established a year ago - on July 24, 2021 a detailed conversation was opened about this or other relevant issues.

First, a group of officials of the Ministry of Defense and the Army Union, participants of the Patriotic War, members of the families of martyrs, military personnel distinguished by their service, visited the monument erected in memory of the national leader of our people Heydar Aliyev in front of the headquarters building, laid a rose wreath, laid flowers and paid their respects.

Before the event held at the Soldier's Club, the memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, the sons of the Motherland, who were martyred for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem was played.

Major General Elchin Khalilov, head of the Personnel Department of the General Staff Department of the Ministry of Defense, greeted the staff and said: "Today we are witnessing another remarkable event in the life of the Azerbaijan Army. We are celebrating the anniversary of the Army unit, which was created a year ago by the relevant order of the Minister of Defense. During the past year, the purposeful actions carried out in this Army unit, surrounded by the constant attention and care of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the officers and ensigns performing their duties with great enthusiasm, the loyalty of our soldiers to the Military Oath, in accordance with the requirements of the military regulations the correct organization of the service allows us to say that this Army unit will, without a doubt, become one of the leading military units of the Azerbaijan Army in the near future."

Major-General E. Khalilov appealed to the mothers of martyrs who participated in the event and said that your grief is the grief of all of us. We once again bow with respect to the holy souls of our martyrs and express our gratitude to you for giving such brave sons to the Motherland and kiss your hands. Our consolation is that we avenged our martyrs by fighting on the battlefields, and the blood of our unforgettable martyrs did not remain on the ground. Every soldier and every officer participating in this event are your children. These young people who are the successors of our heroic sons are ready at every moment for every order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar. If necessary, they will throw themselves into the battlefields and cheer the souls of our martyrs once again.

"Our dear veterans, you are living, glorious, living legends," said the Major-General. The homeland and our appreciative people will never forget your services. You are always in our ranks. We were together yesterday, we are together today, and we will be together in the future. Both our state and every citizen of Azerbaijan are proud of you, we are proud of your courage and bravery" were welcomed by the participants of the event with applause.

Then Major-General E. Khalilov presented the congratulatory letter of Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov addressed to the personnel of the event participants.
