ANAMA: Area of 17 mln. sq/m cleared of mines and UXOs

Hundreds of mines and unexploded ordnance were found and neutralized by ANAMA in the frontline and liberated areas, said Idris Ismayilov, Chief of Staff of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), APA reports.

According to him, area of 17 million square meters have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance: “To date, 17,327 mines and ammunition were found, currently, searches are underway in Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli, Shusha and Khojavend. To date, 4 employees of the Agency injured during searches. 29 mine explosions registered in frontline areas on illegal passing of civilians to the liberated territories, as a result, 17 people were injured and 12 died.”
