House of Commons of the United Kingdom published a statement of condolences to the people of Azerbaijan on the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide on the official website, APA's bureau in Europe reports.
"House extends condolences to the people of Azerbaijan as they commemorate the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre on 26 February 2021; reflects on this atrocity committed against citizens of Azerbaijan amid conflict in the region; and welcomes the recent commitment of both parties to a lasting peace," the document reads.
Authors of the statement are Mr. Bob Blackman, a member of the House of Commons, Chairman of the UK-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Working Group, a member of the Conservative Party, and Mr. Jim Shannon, a member of the Democratic Unionist Party.
