“As a result of a grossly violation of the ceasefire regime for another time by the units of the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Gushchu Ayrim village of Gazakh region of Azerbaijan on February 24 of this year, our border-guard soldier Veliyev Ibrahim Elemshah was martyred. The bloody incident took place on Azerbaijan-Armenia state border”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

“Regular ceasefire violation by Armenian armed forces in both border of two countries and line of contact of troops of the two countries and targeting military and civil Azerbaijani persons obviously show an aggressive policy of the country and real essence of so-called “revolutionary” initiatives of country leadership. With this purposeful intention, the Armenian side obviously approves that it is an invader country and its attempts to hide behind the puppet regime, established in occupied Azerbaijani territories are absolutely groundless.

The occurrence of the above-mentioned incident on the eve of the commemoration of victims of the Khojaly genocide committed by the Armenian armed forces is another disagreeable and hypocritical attempt made by Armenia in order to distract the attention of the world community from its dirty actions. The killing of the soldier of the State Border Service (SBS) defending Azerbaijan’s internationally recognized borders is a crime, and the responsibility for this bloody crime falls on the Armenian side.

May our martyr rest in peace!", noted in the information.
