Albanian-Udi Christian religious community of Azerbaijan issues statement

Albanian-Udi Christian religious community of Azerbaijan has issued a statement.

The statement reads:

“In the name of our Almighty Creator!

We- the Albanian-Udi religious community of Azerbaijan, the successor of the Albanian Apostolic Church, highly appreciate and support the consecutive measures carried out in the liberated territories from the occupation over the past year, in order to protect and restore historical religious monuments, as well as temples belonging to the Christian Albanian heritage, and express our confidence that thanks to will and determination of Azerbaijani state this process will successfully complete as soon as possible.

At the same time, we state that despite serious mine danger, difficult off-road conditions, all necessary measures have been implemented for members of Albanian-Udi Christian religious community to visit historical Albanian temples in the liberated territories from the occupation. As a result, we Udis, as spiritual heirs of the Albanian Apostolic Church have visited several times Agoglan monastery in Lacin, Khudavang in Kalbajar, as well as Albanian temples in Hadrut settlement and Tugh village.”
