Chief infectious disease specialist : “If two-thirds of population is vaccinated, epidemic chain may be broken”

There are risk groups during every infectious disease, these risk groups have been determined in the Vaccination Strategy, said Chief infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health Tayyar Eyvazov speaking on the subject of “COVID-19, vaccination, and hygiene” APA reports.

He noted that when those people are infected, they experience serious illness and there are death cases: “For this reason, in the first case, those people are vaccinated. Minor people may also experience serious illness. But such cases are rare. That is why sensitive groups are firstly vaccinated. But of course, other people are also vaccinated. If two-third of the population is vaccinated, the epidemic chain may be broken”.
