Import of all kinds of poultry and poultry products restricted in South Khorasan Province of Iran

Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) takes relevant measures in accordance with epizootic situation in the world on the basis of information, received from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) in order to be protected from infectious animal diseases, which can come from other countries to the Republic territory. According to the information from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), highly pathogenic bird flu disease has been recorded in the territory of South Khorasan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, AFSA told APA.

A temporary restriction has been applied on import of all kinds of live poultry and poultry products from territory of South Khorasan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran relevant to OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code in order to be protected from infectious animal diseases which can come from other countries to the Republic territory taking into consideration zoning principle.

At the same time, the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been applied in order to take relevant measures regarding transportation vehicles coming from the Islamic Republic of Iran or passing through transit for strengthening control measures.
