The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) warned on Wednesday that organized criminal organizations might try to sell fake COVID-19 vaccines both physically and in virtual space, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Interpol Secretary General Juergen Stock explained that "as governments are preparing to roll out vaccines, criminal organizations are planning to infiltrate or disrupt supply chains. Criminal networks will also be targeting unsuspecting members of the public via fake websites and false cures, which could pose a significant risk to their health, even their lives."

Researches on coronavirus vaccines are also reportedly under threat by North Korean hackers, who recently targeted at least six companies from the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea.
