“China has immediately revealed genetic code of coronavirus and shared it with the world. It is essential as laboratories improve things necessary to diagnose by using it. Laboratories in some countries have used it and developed diagnosis so far”, the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci told APA.
She said Azerbaijan’s Health Ministry has appealed in order to purchase these tests: “The problem is that there is a little number of such tests in the world or the tests are not available for sale. Their quantity is little because they have been started to be developed newly. Yesterday the WHO talked with one laboratory. Some quantity of tests has been procured for distribution to countries. But these tests will be firstly distributed to China and adjacent countries where this disease has spread broadly. The most important thing is that Azerbaijan’s Health Ministry has ordered these tests as early as now. It is not possible to tell the exact date of arrival of the tests in the country. On behalf of the WHO we try to help so that these tests will be brought to the country as soon as possible”.
