Area of demined areas in liberated lands announced

59 055 thousand hectares of area were demined from Azerbaijan’s liberated areas from the occupation since November 10, 2020, until today, 76 810 thousand mines and unexploded ordnance were neutralized, said the Chairman of the Management Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action Vugar Suleymanov at the international event “Fight against Landmine Threat: challenges and opportunities”, APA reports.

According to him, 13 211 thousand of them was anti-tank mines, 26 899 thousand anti-personnel mines, 36 700 thousand was unexploded ordnance: “Unfortunately, over the past period since the Second Karabakh war, 268 people affected by a mine explosion, 44 of them died.”
