Within the framework of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly, a meeting was held between the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev, and Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Ministry told APA.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation congratulated the Director General of the WHO on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organization.
The General Director of the Organization highly appreciated the importance of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to cooperation with WHO. In particular, he recalled the humanitarian aid provided by our country to the Organization during the pandemic, as well as the global calls for joint cooperation among countries in order to eliminate the disease.
He also congratulated Azerbaijan on the occasion of declaring it a malaria-free country and said that this experience is an example for other countries.
