The next Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF on December 3, APA reports. The memorandum envisages the implementation of various projects in the field of early childhood development, inclusive education, adolescence and youth development in Azerbaijan by the end of 2025.
During the meeting with UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan Alex Haykens, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov informed about the Foundation's projects on education, health, social and culture, as well as the integration of children with special needs into society. He said that with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which contributes to the establishment of an inclusive society, a dance group of children with disabilities will perform in foreign countries.
The importance of the activities of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in protecting the rights of children in social, health and other fields, as well as in the care of children in need of special care and deprived of parental care was noted at the meeting.
UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan Alex Haykens noted the cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the Early Childhood Development project, as well as activities in the field of environment and climate change, green energy sources, renewable energy. Alex Haykens said it would be effective to involve children in the process of discussing the "Child Friendly Centers" for the protection of children's rights, as well as demining in the liberated areas.
The meeting also discussed future joint projects in the field of inclusive education, support and rehabilitation of the disabled.
The first Memorandum of Understanding between the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was signed in 2019.
