Baku-APA. At least 37 suspected Boko Haram terrorists have been arrested by Nigerian troops in southwest states of Lagos and Ogun within the last 15 months, a top officer said Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The terrorists were arrested in different parts of the two states, the out-going General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Maj.-Gen. Isidore Edet told reporters in Lagos, the nation's economic hub.
The officer said that the troops will continue to arrest Boko Haram suspects and hand them over to the appropriate authorities.
Authorities in Nigeria have heightened intelligence, surveillance and vigilance against the Boko Haram insurgents. As the battle to eradicate Boko Haram insurgents rages on, Nigerian troops have been making more remarkable progress.
