"Washington will always support the implementation of projects such as the Southern Gas Corridor,” Acting Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs of Bureau of Energy Resources at the US Department of State Sue Saarnio, said at a press conference following the results of the 4th ministerial meeting within the framework of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku.
According to her, the US supports diversification of gas supply routes to Europe.
"Washington supports the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor Project as it needs a strong Europe as a strategic partner. The US has always supported energy security projects. The Southern Gas Corridor project will ensure energy security both across Europe and worldwide,” she said.
