Kazakhstan registers over 600 new coronavirus cases

Doctors in Kazakhstan recorded 602 new coronavirus cases, 14 more than a day earlier, and the total caseload reached 121,653, the government’s inter-agency commission for preventing the coronavirus spread reported on Tuesday, APA reports citing TASS.

In the past eight days, some 564-704 new coronavirus cases were confirmed. The share of those infected stood at 0.6% of the country’s 18.8 mln population. The coronavirus spread rate in the past eight days reached 1.05. The biggest number of 1,962 cases per day was reported on July 9.

According to the commission, a total of 110,382 people have recovered, including 438 in the past 24 hours. The coronavirus death toll has hit 1,945, climbing by seven in the past day.

A total of 4,071,101 tests for COVID-19 have been carried out as of November 16. Some 2.98% of those who passed tests were infected.
