Football world’s governing body FIFA has lifted Sierra Leone's international ban after a high level meeting that was held by the association in Paris on Monday, ONA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.

In a statement, FIFA said the suspension was lifted "after the High Court of Sierra Leone acquitted the SLFA President Isha Johansen and General Secretary Chris Kamara of all charges on May 27."

High court judge Justice Reginald Fynn in his verdict said “There is no evidence which should support the charges of the prosecution of the Anti-Corruption Commission. The officials were therefore found not guilty”.

Public relations officer of Sierra Leone’s football association Ibrahim Kamara says the move is good news for the country’s football.

In October 2018, FIFA suspended Sierra Leone from all international competitions with immediate effect as a result of government interference into activities of the country’s football association.
