The execution of the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev “On the conscription of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan for active military service and the discharge of servicemen from active military service to the reserve for the period from July 1 to July 31, 2021” is conducted in the Azerbaijan Army, Ministry of Defence told APA.
In this regard, in one of the military units stationed in the territories liberated from the occupation, an event "Soldier, thanks for your military service!" was held as part of the departure ceremony of discharged servicemen.
At first, the blessed memory of the national leader of our people Heydar Aliyev and Shehids (Martyrs) was honored with observing a minute of silence. The State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
A ceremony of the entrance on combat duty was held after the participants of the event were shown a video dedicated to the April battles in 2016 and the 44-day Patriotic War.
At the ceremony, it was said about a glorious victory in the Patriotic War, the demonstration of heroism by Azerbaijani soldiers and officers during the liberation of our lands from the occupants. The congratulatory message of the command staff was conveyed to the servicemen, the soldiers handed over their weapons and bulletproof vest to the young soldiers and wished them success.
On behalf of their comrades-in-arms, the young soldiers vowed to continue the traditions of their predecessors and to protect vigilantly the territorial integrity of the country.
Then the servicemen awarded by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their bravery during the Patriotic War were presented with medals. The distinguished servicemen were presented honorary diplomas and valuable gifts.
At the end of the event, a sacrificial ceremony was held on the occasion of the departure of discharged servicemen.
