The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Hulusi Akar, held a joint press conference at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Ministry of Defense told APA.
After answering questions asked by media representatives, the Defense Ministers of the two fraternal countries made statements to the press.
Defense Minister Colonel General Z. Hasanov thanked fraternal Turkey for the political and moral support provided in the Patriotic War. It was noted that the Azerbaijan Army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief demonstrated high professionalism in the 44-day war. Speaking about joint exercises with the Turkish Armed Forces, the Minister stressed that work in this direction will continue further on. The Minister expressed his gratitude to his Turkish counterpart and the delegation headed by him for the visit to Azerbaijan to celebrate Victory Day.
Turkish Minister of National Defense Mr. H. Akar emphasized that the two countries have a common history, and their brotherhood will last forever. It was noted that Turkey is always ready to mobilize all its resources to solve any problem in Azerbaijan. The Minister of National Defense expressed confidence that the existing friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries will further develop.
