Baku Police starts raids against people not wearing mask - UPDATED - PHOTOSESSION

Raids against people not wearing masks started in Baku, APA’s employee participating in the reports of the raid, APA reports.

During the action implemented on the territory of Nizami district, approximately over 10 persons were administratively fined within 2 hours. While several people were issued a warning.

The police have started raids against people not wearing mask in Baku, APA reports.

In accordance with requirements of the legislation, the police officers conduct prophylactic measures in parts of the capital city with dense traffic flow and population. For this purpose, the raids are implemented in places with dense transport flow and population, at vehicle parking lots, in enclosed spaces.

The police give to people the recommendations regarding abstention from violation of quarantine rules, and the measures are taken against those who neglect rules, don’t comply with lawful demands of the police according to requirements of the legislation. Meanwhile, the citizens not wearing medical mask are fined by an administrative procedure.

Note that the individuals will be fined in the amount of AZN 50, the senior officials – in the amount of AZN 100, and the legal entities – in the amount of AZN 200 for violation of the requirements determined by relevant executive power agency in regard to use of personal equipment protecting respiratory passages from epidemic during the period of the sanitary and hygiene and quarantine regimes, as well as the failure of the senior officials to prevent violation of those requirements.

This has found its reflection in the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today approved.

Repeated violation of the aforementioned offence by a person who received an administrative penalty from the date of entry into force of the decision to impose an administrative penalty from until the expiry of the period of anti-epidemic, sanitary and hygiene and quarantine regimes shall be punishable by a fine of 100 manats for individuals, 200 manats for officials or 400 manats for legal entities.
