Condition of one of the injured on boat explosion is critical

Ministry of Health has disseminated information about the conditions of injured people in the explosion that occurred in the Caspian Sea on SOCAR’s boat, the press service of the Ministry told APA.

According to the Ministry, Ambulance has received a call at 13:20 about the explosion. The explosion occurred in Pirallahi district, Gurgan village (near the beacon) near the boat. 3 men have been taken to the burns unit of the hospital N 5 with burn injuries with different degrees. After initial medical care, they were transferred to the Central Hospital of Oil Workers. Burns in the face, facial burns and facial wounds and injuries in the eyes of one of the patients have been discovered. Two of them are evaluated moderate and one is severe.

Note that, an explosion has occurred on an expedition boat that carried an explosive which is used for seismic exploration at sea in the Pirallahi district of Baku. A criminal case under article 162.2 of the Criminal Code (violation of labor protection rules, when leads to death) related to the fact has been launched at Baku City Prosecutor's Office. An investigative team consists of the experienced staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Prosecutor’s Office has been formed.
