Ecuador protest death toll at 7, over 1,000 Injured, hundreds detained

The number of people, who were killed in the wave of ongoing protests in Ecuador, has risen to seven, while 1,340 more were injured, the ombudsman’s office said. According to earlier reports, five people were killed in the protests, APA reports quoting sputniknews


“A total of 1,152 people were detained, seven were killed, 1,340 were injured”, the ombudsman’s office wrote Monday on Twitter.


Mass protests erupted in Ecuador earlier in October as thousands rallied across the country against the government's economic reforms, particularly, the decision to end decades-long fuel subsidies for people.
