Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced on Thursday the social media platform will give "amnesty" and restore all suspended accounts that "have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam," APA reports citing Teletrader.

The move comes after he asked Twitter users in a poll if Twitter should offer such amnesty and 72.4% of more than 3 million users who took part in the poll supported the idea. "The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei," Musk tweeted.

Earlier, Musk reinstated former United States President Donald Trump's account, which had been "permanently" suspended, following a similar poll.
