Press: US and allies prepare new sanctions against Russian oil products

Next month Western countries will introduce a new round of sanctions against the Russian oil sector, APA reports citing TASS.

“The United States and allies are preparing a new round of sanctions against the Russian oil industry, the purpose of which is to limit the price of processed oil products exported by Russia,” the WSJ material says.

It is noted that representatives of the US Treasury are holding meetings this week in different countries of Europe, trying to agree on the details of new sanctions, which should come into force on February 5.

“The sanctions will place two price caps on Russian processed products: one for high-priced exports like diesel fuel, and the other for cheap ones like heating oil,” the WSJ said.
