Cavusoglu: “We support Georgia’s membership to NATO”

“We will further strength NATO,” Turkey’s foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in an interview with the German daily Bild.

Commenting on the tension around S-400 anti-aircraft missile system Turkish foreign minister stated that they appealed to Russia due to not receiving air defense systems from NATO allies: “It was not an option, it was a necessity. We will not take any steps that would undermine NATO

Mevlut Cavusoglu emphasized that Germany and France avoid accepting Georgia to NATO in order not to upset Russia: “But we always raise the issue of Georgia's membership to NATO and support Georgia’s membership to NATO.”
