South Korea has detected its first case of the new, likely more transmittable, coronavirus variant, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), APA reports citing Teletrader.

The agency said that the people confirmed with the new virus strain are South Korean nationals that arrived in the country last week after visiting the United Kingdom.

A number of nations have already restricted travel with the UK over concerns about the new variant, which was first confirmed in the country.
