“A large wave of Anti-Turk disinformation has been observed in Georgia for the last 2-3 days,” Turkey's Ambassador to Georgia Fatma Ceren Yazgan said in a press conference, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

The Ambassador stated that the Peace Spring operation launched by Turkey on October 9 in northern Syria, aims to combat terrorists that pose a direct threat to Turkey's national security.

“There is some tension between Turkey and the United States regarding Syria. I felt that concerns also occur in Georgia regarding this tension. We have observed a large wave of Anti-Turk disinformation in Georgia for the last 2-3 days. For example, we have witnessed dissemination of false information, such as "the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Kars in 2021 and Turkey will try to capture Adjara". We ask the Georgian media not to pay attention to such false information. We are sure that such information is spread on various websites that are partially connected with the PKK and serve provocative purposes,” Fatma Ceren Yazgan stated.
