The ongoing coronavirus-related restrictive measures in China have affected the development schedule for at least one new class of Apple Inc.'s flagship iPhones, according to several insiders briefed on the issue, APA reports citing Nikkei Asia on Wednesday.

In addition, the output volumes for the United States-based tech giant's key product could suffer this year as Apple reportedly urged suppliers to expedite the development process in light of the issues that came as a result of the lockdowns, but the restrictions are being relaxed at a "slow" pace, according to a source.

Apple is preparing for the release of four new iPhone models in late summer 2022 - the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Max and 14 Pro Max, it was said in the report.
