NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed the importance of increasing cooperation with South Korea in response to China's military expansion and global security threats from North Korea, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Stoltenberg told Yonhap News Agency in an interview published on Sunday that "the most important message is that I strongly believe that we need to strengthen the partnership between Korea and NATO because security becomes more and more interconnected."

He is scheduled to make an official two-day visit to Seoul later today, during which he will meet South Korean officials including President Yoon Suk Yeol.
