There is no need to introduce a new lockdown in Russia due to the spread of the coronavirus, Dmitry Peskov said, APA reports.

"The current level of organization of the process of counteraction and the provision of people with medical services is sufficient to avoid introducing any lockdowns, whether it is a shutdown in communication between regions or a shutdown of the economy. We believe that this is still not necessary," said the press secretary of Vladimir Putin.

The Kremlin spokesman recalled that the regional authorities have been given special powers to combat the coronavirus epidemic and they can take emergency measures themselves in agreement with the government commission.
