Today, new rules will come into force in Ukraine, according to which all print media in the country must publish at least half of their circulation in Ukrainian. However, the editorial offices of many newspapers and magazines are experiencing financial difficulties, therefore, due to the innovation, they will be forced to abandon the Russian-language version, said Commissioner for State Language Protection Taras Kremin on his Facebook page, APA reports.

The provisions of the law will not apply to publications in the languages of the Crimean Tatars and other indigenous peoples of Ukraine (Crimean Tatars, Karaites, Krymchaks), English or other official languages of the European Union. Russian is not an exception. "
