The Prosecutor General of Armenia appealed to the parliament regarding the opening of a criminal case against the opposition MP Armen Charchyan, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

It was noted that on February 8, 2017, Charchyan was accused of signing a forged opinion of a forensic medical expert regarding a special serious criminal case.

At the same time, the speaker of the parliament, Alen Simonyan, emphasized that the Constitutional Court will not be appealed to cancel the mandate of 22 opposition deputies.

He linked this step with the resumption of the participation of the opposition deputies in the parliamentary sessions.
