Fakhraddin Miralayev: "Gazanchilar church in Shusha has nothing in common with Armenian culture"

"Gazanchilar church in Shusha has nothing in common with the Armenian culture ", said Honored artist, author of project of restoration of the Church Fakhraddin Miralayev at the briefing held today, APA reports.

Fakhraddin Miralayev being the author of the project of restoration of Gazanchilar Church during 1980-ies said this church is situated in the peripheral part of Shusha: "During restoration of this church, the monument related to Zoroastrianism was detected under Gazanchilar church. The church was built in 1868 above that monument. Gazanchilar church was built not in the Armenian artistic language, but in the Russian artistic language".

According to F.Miralayev, the church has longish windows which is present in the Russian churches: "The windows of the Armenian churches are small. Gazanchilar church in Shusha has nothing in common with Armenian culture".

The author of project of restoration of the church also added that there is a great difference between Orthodoxy and Gregorianity: "Most of the churches presented as the Armenian churches are related to our culture, are peculiar to Kipchak culture".
