UNESCO proposed assistance to Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to protect historical monuments in Nagorno Garabagh

UNESCO is ready to assist Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to protect historical monuments in Nagorno Garabagh and plans to send a delegation consisting of specialists, said general director of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay, APA reports citing TASS.

 

 

During the meeting with representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia, the general director sent proposal in official manner for provision of technical support by UNESCO: “The representatives who can’t yet visit these territories for more effective organization of the region’s cultural heritage can draw up the initial list of the most significant cultural wealth by fulfilling field mission based on agreement of the interested parties. UNESCO will work with all interested parties in order to implement such a mission. The highest-level consultations were launched with the Minsk group co-chairs”.
