Azerbaijani representative to the Venice Commission Letif Huseynov: Most amendments to the law on Freedom of assembly are technical
22 December 2006 16:27 (UTC +04:00)
He said that the proposals on the amendments will be sent to the Venice Commission.
“The judgment of the Venice Commission is taken into consideration. I participated in the meeting when the judgment was approved. Most amendments are not matters of principle. This law had been adopted before Azerbaijan membership to the Commission. We had not joint a number of conventions then. That’s why the law on Freedom of assembly should be conformed to the present, he said.
Letif Huseynov noted that some items of the law should be conformed to the Azerbaijan’s constitution, as well. /APA/
