Istanbul police detain 11 suspects in terrorist operation

11 suspects were detained in the operation against the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLCP) terrorist organization in 3 Istanbul-based provinces, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.

The teams of the Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate carried out work to decipher the activities of the terrorist organization MLCP and the so-called youth organization Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (FSYA) to identify the members of the organization.

During the studies, the identities and addresses of 14 suspects, who were understood to be operating within the organization, were determined.

Simultaneously raiding the addresses determined in Bursa and İzmir, including the center of Istanbul, the police detained 11 of the 14 suspects.

A large number of organizational documents and digital materials were seized during the searches made at the addresses.

While the arrested suspects were taken to the police station for questioning, it was reported that efforts are underway to apprehend the other three suspects.
