"I have already thanked the Turkish government for Turkiye's role in achieving the Grain Deal. I visited Turkiye some time ago," said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg while delivering a speech at the 68th session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Madrid, APA reports.

"We thank Turkiye's role in achieving this agreement and especially for its extension these days. When I visited Turkiye, I also saw these ships pass through the Bosphorus. The extension of this agreement and the export of Ukrainian grain are very important. This affects global food security and food prices," NATO Secretary General said.

He said that the importance of this agreement has already been proven and it should continue.

Stoltenberg also touched on Turkiye's role in the exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia and said that NATO countries also thanked Turkiye for this: "We appreciated Turkiye's role in the process."
