The North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Military Committee, the group's highest military authority that gathers the members' chiefs of defense forces, will be held in Tallinn, Estonia, between September 16 and 18, APA reports citing NATO website.

According to the announcement NATO posted, the attendees will discuss a series of topics with a focus on strategic development within the organization. They will also talk about the alliance's ongoing missions around the world, including those in Iraq and the partially recognized Kosovo. The event will be hosted by Estonian Defence Forces Chief Lieutenant General Martin Herem.

The officials from Finland and Sweden, which are currently in the process of joining the organization, will attend the conference for the first time.
