“The positive trends are being observed in the financial sector. The credit portfolio increased by 1.9% during the initial 4 months. And the main source of this growth is the business credits”, said Elman Rustamov, chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), “APA-Economics” reports.
He said 4.1% growth has occurred in business credits, and 5.2% growth – in mortgage credits, while the consumption credits have decreased by 4.1%.
“The new credits worth AZN 4.1 bln. have been issued by banks. The banking sector actively participates in financing of the real sector. The liquid funds exceeding AZN 8 bln. are available, no problem is observed in implementation of banks’ obligations. The banks fulfill their obligations timely. The payment system is stable”, E. Rustamov noted.
