The total number of customer transfers from current accounts through e-banking in Azerbaijan in 2020 amounted to 42.4 million and the volume amounted to AZN 95,7 billion, APA-Economics reports citing Azerbaijan Central Bank.
The number of transfers increased by 79%, the volume by 55% compared to 2019. In addition to this, during the reporting period, a positive dynamic was observed in the indicators of contactless payment infrastructure. The number of contactless payment cards in circulation increased 2,5 times compared to 2019 and amounted to 3,7 million, and the number of POS-terminals accepting contactless payments increased by 13% to 34,2 thousand.
The number and volume of contactless payments exceeded the figures of 2019 by 4,3 and 5,4 times, respectively.
